The End of Guilt

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

What is the purpose of guilt?

Well, let's look at it.

Some would say that guilt is necessary to help us remember things we did that we should regret, so that,

We won't make the same mistakes again, so that,

We can feel we are learning from our mistakes, so that,

We can become more moral, more compassionate, more confident, more self respecting and more virtuous human beings, so that,

We can feel better about ourselves, so that,

Our Self Worth can rise, and so that,

Our Self Esteem can rise.

So in summary:

(A) Guilt makes our Self Worth and our Self Esteem rise.

Does statement (A) sound right to you? Well as I was elaborating it above, maybe for a moment it did, didn't it. But when I summarized the result for you, what happened?

If you haven't followed me so far I ask you to recall the feeling of guilt for yourself. Notice how it makes you feel. What does it do to your self worth, your self esteem? I'm sure you'll recognize immediately, that no matter when you feel guilt you automatically feel worse about yourself, not better.

So, if you're with me so far, you'll recognize that statement (A) is False. If so, acknowledge this to yourself. Now notice how you feel inside.

If you feel lighter, more relaxed, relieved, more at peace, like a load has been taken off you, more expansive, better in yourself then you have just had a very significant experience. This is the experience of your Divine Self reclaiming its rightful place in your physical body.

The guilt has been in your body largely to squelch this experience most of your life. So you see guilt is not only not useful, it is against you and therefore not a "human emotion".

If you are confused and would like more clarity, or if you know exactly what I'm talking about and would like to fully reclaim your rightful place in your physical body as the Divine Being that you are please visit the web site in my bio below.

No More Negative Self Talk!

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Negative self talk pertains to all those unwanted, intrusive negative thoughts that wander through one's mind almost every second of every day.

Their presence serves to distract, derail, defocus you and drain a great deal of your vital life energy, to name a few.

Many strategies have been proposed for ending the negative self talk i.e. Rational Emotive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnotherapy, NLP etc.

In my view these therapies only work for a short time, or at least for as long as one is using them. Of course to keep employing a form of therapy to keep such intrusive thoughts at bay "is a job" in itself. This means that it "takes" energy as well, your energy!

What's more after one stops employing such therapies, after a while the intrusive thoughts re-emerge again. I know this both from first hand experience and from the experience of clients I treated when I was a psychiatrist.

I've learned that the reason these therapies "don't' work is because they miss the root of the problem. That is that these intrusive thoughts are generated by false unconscious beliefs we carry deep inside of us as a result of conditioned life experience.

These unconscious beliefs act to "justify" the reasons why the negative self talk is useful for you to have. Of course when you are "unconscious" of these justifications you cannot see how "preposterous" their logic is.

It is this very reason that they have the power over you that they do. It's only when you become conscious, i.e. see their wierd logic that they become exposed and you can become free of them once and for all. Yes permanently and with no further work required on your part!

Unless these beliefs are unearthed and released from one's mind/body they will continue to generate intrusive negative thoughts.

A new tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) does just that. To download and experience a free interactive sample of MRP you can visit the web link below.

Forgiving One's Self

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Has anything ever happened in your life that you continue to blame or punish yourself for? If so this is the same as saying that you are having trouble forgiving yourself for it.

What is the purpose of going on punishing yourself for whatever you have been blaming yourself for? This is likely a question you have never asked. The reason I say this is that had you considered it you would have already stopped the self blame and the self punishment.

Let me explain.

Many believe "unconsciously" that the purpose of going on blaming and punishing one's self for past transgressions is so that:

One will not forget the transgression, so that,

The next time they will not commit it again, so that,

They can make the right decisions, so that,

They can feel good i.e. happy, at peace, good about themselves, blame free, a sense of relief, and a sense of self worth.

In other words many believe "unconsciously" that going on punishing one's self, or alternatively not forgiving one's self, makes one feel happy, at peace, good about themselves, blame free, a sense of relief, and a sense of self worth.

Does that feel right to you?

Highly unlikely, correct?

Do you recognize however that that is what you have believed unconsciously?

If so, do you want to go on harboring that kind of toxicity inside you?

Do you recognize the toxic effects of going on punishing yourself i.e. not forgiving yourself? If not just go back to the self punishment and notice what it feels like to be there.

You'll likely notice that it makes you feel horrible, like a horrible, worthless human being who deserves to be exterminated.

Now is that toxic or not?

If you are feeling surprisingly inspired by some of the interesting changes that you may be experiencing in your body from this discussion you may wish to visit the web link below and listen to the very special message I have posted for you there.

Developing Self Worth

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Low self worth is felt by many and is associated with feeling sad, unimportant, depressed, a sinking feeling, inadequate, useless, diminished, de-energized, unmotivated, insecure, unlovable, unworthy, guilty, shame, self loathing, self hate, and so on.

Living in such a state often elicits decisions and behaviors that are self sabotaging or self harming. These include such things as not looking after ones health, engaging or continuing in unhealthy relationships, making poor choices, drug, alcohol, sexual and other addictions, self harm behaviors and outright suicidal behaviors.

All of this only serves to deepen the trough of one's self worth thus leading to a vicious negative vortex that literally swallows up a person's life.

Is there a way out of all of this? In order to answer this I wish to outline what I feel is at the root of the problem.

In a recent article entitled "The Source of All Ethical Values" I make the case that our ethical values are not only hardwired in each of us but that they are what essentially make us what we are, human!

Such ethical values also correspond to the experience of what I call the Self. This is the "feeling you". The you that feels what your every thought and decision feels like to you. These feelings resound deep within you and attempt to let you know what is and is not good for you in every thought, every decision, in every behavior in every moment.

It is when you, for whatever reason, you choose to ignore or turn your back on this deep emotional intelligence that you are not only devaluing it you are devaluing your Self. To devalue one's self means to not give it any sense of worth. What follows then are all of the feelings that go with what I described above i.e. feelings associated with low self worth.

So what is it that would cause anyone to "choose" to devalue something that is always acting in their best interests and that wishes to bring them happiness, joy and fulfillment in life?

Well the only way this can happen is if you allow yourself to "believe" that something is good for you when in fact it is not. I highlighted the word "believe" because that is the crux of the problem. In other words it comes down to putting one's learned "beliefs" ahead of one's emotional wisdom.

By doing so you automatically devalue not only your emotional wisdom but more importantly your Self. Hence your problems with self worth.

If you'd like a way out of this negative cycle then kindly visit the web link below where I have a special audio message waiting for you.

The Obesity-Self Esteem Cycle

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

We all know that obesity can trigger feelings of low self esteem. The converse is also true i.e. feelings of low self esteem can trigger over eating behaviors that can exacerbate obesity.

In short, if one is caught in such a cycle, the Obesity-Self Esteem Cycle, it can become a powerful negative vortex that can destroy one's health, relationships and life.

The reason so many diet strategies fail is that they do not take into account the second half of the cycle I mentioned above.

Although self esteem can be negatively affected by obesity this is not the only factor that drives it. The most significant impact on one's self esteem in my view originates in one's history of experienced emotional trauma which is stored in the body at many levels. So addressing the obesity issue alone via diet and exercise will be insufficient to address these contributors to one's low self esteem. As long as these are still present they will drive the second half of the cycle.

These deeper emotional "scars" must be addressed directly and in my view released permanently to help fully restore one's self esteem. When this is done this will automatically break the Obesity-Self Esteem Cycle by eliminating emotional driving forces that bring self esteem down.

As a result, the individual will no longer feel badly inside and will therefore no longer feel a need to have to "soothe" themselves with food to make the "pain" go away.

A new process called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) which releases negative beliefs and emotional trauma has been shown to effectively end the Obesity-Self Esteem Cycle.

If you'd like to learn more about MRP or experience a free interactive audio clip kindly go to the web link below where you can quickly download it and begin to transform your life.
