Relationships: How To Overcome Your Shyness Quickly And Painlessly

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Shyness is something that many individuals suffer with.

It can literally determine the level of success one achieves in areas such as relationships, career, wealth, happiness, fulfillment etc.

It can be a crippling problem associated with deep feelings of social anxiety, the need to avoid social engagements, an inability to speak in public, feelings of shame and embarrassment, feelings of low self esteem, low self worth, low self confidence, low self image, depression, even suicidal thoughts and attempts.

One of the main underlying factors that feeds and reinforces this problem is a deep need to be liked by others. This can also be felt as a need to be validated, a need to be loved, a need to be accepted, a need to feel secure etc.

When these needs become exaggerated they can lead one to feel extremely insecure and unsafe in situations where they perceive or feel that the needs will not be satisfied. As a result they tend to avoid such situations.

What is interesting is that it is often the perception of lacking safety that is the problem and not the situation itself.
In other words the individual's problem resides in what they appear to "believe" about the situation.

Such beliefs are part of an inner emotional landscape which forms as a result of traumatic early life experiences and which remain very active consciously. So active that they intrude on the individual's ability to discern between what is going on inside them versus what is actually going on outside of them.

Another way of saying this is that it's as if they have a "movie" going on in their mind that distorts and interferes with the accurate perception of one's true external reality.

I'm sure you can imagine how confusing and emotionally unsettling this might be if you've never experienced this before.

Many forms of treatment for shyness focus on "forcing" one to go into those uncomfortable situations but few ever really address the "internal movie". By ignoring its presence it never really goes away, rather it lurks there and continues to undermine both one's energy and confidence.

A new modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) can now effectively release the internal "horror" movie once and for all. The effect is like taking off colored glasses that were distorting your vision and finally being able to see clearly what is actually going on.

Men Overcoming The Fear Of Emotional Committment

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

How many times have you been told by a girlfriend that you were afraid of an emotional commitment? Well if this sounds familiar then you've landed in the right place. Let me tell you why.

What is meant by a fear of "emotional commitment"? Well there are many interpretations of this so I'll mention a few. They center on the following:

1. A fear that you might be losing out on the "fun" the other guys are having by "playing the field".

2. A fear that you might get bored with your partner after some time.

3. A fear that you'll be saddled with responsibilities that go with a relationship and that will make life unpleasant.

4. A fear that you will lose the freedom you currently enjoy to do what you want whenever you want.

5. A fear of becoming emotionally intimate with another person.

6. A fear of exposing your true self to another person.

7. A fear of being rejected by your partner.

8. A fear of not being able to live up to all the responsibilities that a relationship demands.

9. A fear of confronting deep feelings of inadequacy.

10. A fear of having to "grow up" and become a fully functioning adult, and so on.

If you look at the list above you'll see that one word keeps reappearing. That word is not a pretty one is it?

If you recognize what that word does to your self esteem, your self confidence, and your self worth you'll notice, if you're honest with yourself that it is reducing the overall quality of your life.

Now here I'm not advocating that you simply go and jump into any relationship simply to try and make yourself feel better. Rather I suggest that you develop the emotional skills and attributes that will truly prepare you for a successful and fulfilling relationship.

Ultimately only this will make you feel like an adult male who is mature, confident, courageous and of integrity.

Unfortunately most men are not socialized to be aware of their own inner feelings or emotions. The general belief among many men is that emotions are a sign of weakness and are the domain of women.

I beg to differ with that self destructive way of thinking.

Emotional awareness is, in my view, the single most important developmental skill that every individual must cultivate. Men on this planet have been done a grave dis-service because they have not had this privilege.

As a result they have been left crippled, yes crippled, by this unfortunate practice. An inability to feel and discern one's inner emotional landscape has left men feeling terribly inadequate, vulnerable and handicapped

In order to feel better about themselves they have attempted to compensate for this through many destructive and self destructive behaviors most of which manifest as a need for power.

If you look around on this planet you'll see how this need has only contributed to the demise of the planet and everything on it. More so it is also deeply scarring the very men who perpetrate such acts. Sadly many of them are so numb to what they are doing that they cannot feel the consequences and hence cannot stop themselves.

Isn't it time that you as a man took the bull by the horns and stood up for your rights? That is you emotional rights.

Well if you really want to be a man who feels whole and complete then you may wish to visit the web link below in my bio to get started on your journey to your true self.

There is no Such Thing as Good Stress

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Q: What is Stress?

A: Very basically it is the physical, emotional and spiritual tension that arises in a person when they are being pulled or pushed outside of their comfort zone by internal or external forces.

Q: I’ve heard people talk about good and bad stress. What’s the difference?

A: Contrary to what many may think, All Stress is Bad Stress. By this I mean that all stress takes a physical, emotional and spiritual toll on the person leading to things like burnout, illness, premature aging , drug addictions and even premature death.

Q: If we were always in our comfort zone wouldn’t we just get lazy and choose to do nothing?

A: Well think about it, is stress the only motivator in your life? What ever happened to doing something because you were excited about it or because it gave you a tremendous amount of pleasure or joy?

Q: I understand external forces causing stress but what do you mean by internal forces causing stress?

A: Here’s an example: Do you ever worry that people won’t like you? Does this kind of worry make you a slave to the whims of others? Well the “worry that others won’t like me” is an example of an internal force causing stress. It causes stress because it is constantly forcing you to try and please those around you whether you really want to or not.

Q: How can a you help me become aware of and deal with internal and external stressors?

A: I think part of the answer is in your question. Firstly, by helping you become aware of these forces. One of the biggest problems is that we just learn to accept these destructive forces in our lives. Secondly, by coaching you to find new ways of living without the need for them.

A powerful new tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) helps you become aware of and permanently release negative emotions, beliefs, perceptions and memories that contribute to stress levels and predispose you to illness. The idea of permanently releasing such stress producing factors permanently has not even been thought possible until recently.

Some of the benefits include a sense of resilience, greater energy, a feeling of rejuvenation, feeling lighter, more joyful and optimistic, greater creativity, enhanced intuition, significantly enhanced health and well being and a greater sense of being connected to one's spiritual self. This, all without the use of medications or psychotherapy!

He is also a Stress and Performance Researcher and developer of a powerful new tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) that helps to release all negative factors that contribute to stress in your life and work. How Emotional Trauma Undermines Immune System Function

By Nick Arrizza, M.D.

We all know that stress and its causes have an adverse effect on immune function and therefore predispose one to infections and other illnesses.

What impact does emotional trauma have on immune function if any?

Well emotional trauma, even that which you carry for many years can have a dramatic impact on the functioning of you immune system.

Emotionally based trauma has the effect of creating an inhospitable environment in the mind and body where it is embedded for what I call your "vital life energy".

Your vital life energy in essence is also what some refer to as your "Essence" or "Spiritual Self". This is also called your "soul" by some.

What happens to this "Essence" when the mind and body become too pain and illness ridden? Well it leaves the mind and body forever. This is what we call death or dying.

The process of dying however doesn't simply take place at only that moment. It is actually a process that is threatening you at every moment and it happens by degrees.

Each and every time you feel stressed out by something if you notice what happens to your energy level you'll notice that it goes down. In other words you feel depleted of energy.

Well this is the same as saying that your mind and body are depleted of energy. The state of being depleted of energy is actually the equivalent of your essence, your vital life energy, your spiritual energy, your soul leaving your mind and body bit by bit.

In other words each time you experience stress and are depleted by it you are dying!

Well what do you think happens to the normal functioning of your mind and body when there is less of you in it?

Well it starts to malfunction. Part of the malfunction manifests in the under functioning of its immune system. The immune system for one is supposed to guard against parasitic intruders i.e. viruses, bacteria, fungal infections etc.

So where does this leave you? Well it leaves your mind and body more vulnerable to further assaults and this further undermines or depletes your energy.

At some point, when the cumulative assault is greater than one can tolerate the individual loses hope and gives up the fight. When this happens all is lost and death ensues.

In my experience emotional traumatic experiences can have a huge detrimental effect on one's energy stores. Now don't take this from me, check it out for yourself.

Recall a negative memory and as you do notice what it does to your energy level.

Now, that memory is inside you even when you are not thinking about it. In fact to keep it out of awareness also requires the expenditure of vital life energy. Whose? Yours!

Through a new healing modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) over the last 10 years I have helped hundreds of individuals permanently release traumatic life depleting memories from their minds and bodies.

The net result for these individuals has been; a reclamation of vast amounts of life energy, greater resilience to stress and illness, improved health and well being, a sense of rejuvenation, feelings and appearance of youthfulness, inner peace, a sense of relief, joy, contentment, as sense of hope, and a renewed sense of being able to reclaim control of their lives and their destiny.

MRP is administered over the telephone and involves no drugs. It yields immediate results that are permanent and powerful.

If you'd like to experience MRP at no risk to you kindly visit the web link below and set up your introductory consultation.

Glyconutrients – Improving Health and Preventing Disease

By Sacha Tarkovsky

“Let food be thy medicine, and let thy medicine be food”, Hippocrates.

No phrase could be truer, as any honest doctor will tell you. Here we will examine glyconutrients, and how they can help supplement your diet program, improve health and prevent disease.

Glyconutrients are large sugar polymers containing “monosaccharides”

A monosaccharide is a carbohydrate consisting of one simple sugar. These monosaccharides are important elements used by the body to create glycoproteins.

What are they?

In turn, glycoproteins are the molecules that act as a cellular code for cell to cell communication. In fact, the majority of proteins in our bodies are glycoproteins.

Today there is an entire branch of medicine now called
Gycoscience, based on glyconutients, and more there is an associated new (re-discovered) discipline in medicine called Orthomoleculogy.

Orthomolecular medicine describes the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the body with optimal amounts of substances which are natural to the body.

The principle idea here is that genetic factors affect not only to the physical characteristics of individuals, but also to their biochemical potentials.

It is believed that biochemical pathways of the body have significant genetic variability and diseases such as atherosclerosis, cancer, schizophrenia or depression are associated with specific biochemical abnormalities which are causal or contributing factors of the illness describes.

From the above, the whole industry and habit of taking food supplements have arisen, and now it is commonplace to find food supplements in almost every pharmacy and supermarket.
The supplements themselves are almost always glyconutrients, and usually glycoproteins.

How they work and what they can do for you

Let’s see how they work, and what they can do for you. Since the topic is much to large to cover in any single article we will use the B-vitamin supplements as an example.

The B-vitamins are working best when taken in a group, but even given singly have good and well documented results. B-6 taken alone helps all the symptoms of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome), an essential (now widely accepted practice) addition to any woman taking oral contraceptives, as it is a possible stroke preventative (women taking oral contraceptives are 3 times as likely to suffer stroke than women who do not).

B-3 (Niacin) also has been used for a very long time by psychiatrists as it is an effective alternative treatment for severe depression, psychotic behavior, and schizophrenia.

Additionally Niacin has finally gained popularity as one of the cheapest ways to lower serum cholesterol.
It must be mentioned again, as above, that the B-vitamins work well when taken together, and somehow even better with other glyconutrients such as Vitamin C.

There is a very good effect on organs such as the liver, which means if you drink alcohol to any extent, you need to be taking these supplements.

Assuming Orthomolecular medicine will be gaining credence in the near future, we may discover how to treat and even prevent all our illnesses with diet and natural cures.

The problem is perhaps the huge pharmaceutical industry that makes hundreds of billions of dollars early by providing expensive drugs and may or may not work. Also a doctor would have a real problem with collecting high fees by prescribing eating an apple a day.

The key then will lay in the real education of the general public.

An article such as this should also contain a detailed explanation of how the glyconutrients work, and what they do.
In the future, we hope that all interested people will demand such an instruction and explanation. Today’s basic biology classes are going into more detail than ever before and this too is a good sign.

Good News for Women Who Drink Coffee

By Timothy S. Harlan, M.D.

There's a good bit of medical lore that says that caffeine will increase your blood pressure. It's true in the sense that there are short-term clinical studies that show that caffeine intake can raise blood levels of stress hormones associated with hypertension, but these studies have all been only up to a week or so in length. Recently a team of researchers at Harvard published the first study of the effects of long-term caffeine intake among women (JAMA. 2005;294:2330-2335 ).

The study followed two groups of female registered nurses:

53,175 women, 32-55 years of age, between 1990 and 2002

87,369 women, 25-42 years of age, between 1991 and 2003

Any woman who was diagnosed with hypertension was excluded from the study.

Each woman filled out a questionnaire every four years, answering questions about diet, exercise, and caffeine intake. The relevant beverages on the questionnaire were:

low-calorie cola (e.g., Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi with caffeine),

regular cola (e.g., Coke, Pepsi, or other cola beverages with sugar),

tea with caffeine,

tea without caffeine,

coffee with caffeine, and

decaffeinated coffee.

The researchers adjusted their analyses for other risk factors, like family history of hypertension, BMI level, alcohol use, amount of exercise, and use of oral contraceptives. Their results are very interesting: those women whose caffeine intake was in the midrange of the study (between 144mg and 297 mg per day) had a 14-15% HIGHER risk of hypertension than those whose caffeine intake was less than 45mg per day. But here's the interesting part: those women whose caffeine intake was at the high end of the study (over 417mg/day) had almost the same risk of hypertension as those women in the low end of the study. These results were so surprising that the researchers went on to analyze the results according to what kind of caffeine the women in the study were drinking: coffee, tea, or soda?

Although there was some slight difference between the two groups of women, those women who drank four or more cans (or glasses) of caffeinated soda (regular or diet) had between 37% and 60% greater risk of hypertension than those who drank one or less.

By comparison, those who drank coffee had an increased risk of hypertension of only 6% for those who only drank one cup per day (Those who drank more had no increase in risk or their risk actually decreased.) Those who drank tea had increased risk with four or more cups per day—but only for the women in the second group. For the first group, risk was about the same across all levels of intake.

The good news: There's no need to cut down on your caffeinated coffee intake just to avoid hypertension.

The important news: Looks to me like a good reason to give up caffeinated soda!

Additional Information: Caffeine levels:

Coffee: 137mg per cup
Tea: 47mg per cup
Cola beverage: 46mg per can or bottle
Chocolate Candy: 7mg per serving
